Leg Vise
Leg Vise. Without the two guide rods of the iron vise, workpieces can be held right up against the screw, virtually eliminating racking and providing a better overall grip. Form and function the glide makes holding your work quick, easy, and pleasurable.
A leg vise moves via a single screw with a pinned sliding guide rail to maintain parallelism. It uses a clever combination of components to deliver incredible clamping force with minimal effort. Leg vise quick action patented release handle no oil or grease needed metal or wooden handle options add x link to eliminate the lower.
I developed a new leg vise that uses a type one lever instead of the old type three.

However, on the plus side you'll never find a sturdier stand!
* the pin and sliding guide rail keep the jaw parallel for even clamping force. With it’s parallel guide and pin, the humble leg vice needed a make over. For hardwoods you want at least 1.5 thick and for soft woods i would not go less than 2.5. Leg vise quick action patented release handle no oil or grease needed metal or wooden handle options add x link to eliminate the lower.
Iron face vises provide around 4 inch (100 mm) of workable depth from the top of the bench to the screw and guide rods. In order to apply clamping pressure to the top part of the vise, which is where the workpiece is held , there must be a slightly larger piece at the bottom. Face vises are generally used for a relatively narrow range of thicknesses, but when used in more open positions, the convenience of opening the jaws quickly and efficiently is a plus. 20mm forstner bit (or) 30mm hardware 30mm linear motion bearing 30mm rod 30mm forstner bit tools hitachi 12 compound sliding miter saw (c12rsh) (latest version:
To use it, simple grab the piece you’re wanting to hold in the vise. You want something thick enough that it will not deflect, long enough that you can use a lot of leverage on it, and wide enough to clamp larger pieces. The glide exemplifies our principle of effortless workholding. 6) thread the screw hole (tap or chase).
Benchcrafted vise is a breeze. It uses a clever combination of components to deliver incredible clamping force with minimal effort. Perceived as a hassle to use; Panels can be clamped the entire length of the jaws.
For hardwoods you want at least 1.5 thick and for soft woods i would not go less than 2.5. You'll probably have to build your shop around this vice as it'll be really tough to move. Cut off some of the vise leg to make it more narrow towards the bottom end. I developed a new leg vise that uses a type one lever instead of the old type three.
No guide bars so you can clamp clser to the screw without wracking the jaws. That will be another day though. As you can see from these photos, it can easily be used with one or two fingers, and that part impressed me. In some instances the leg vise is mounted on sliding rails on the bench face to allow it to be moved to the most advantageous location.

The leg vise is not only functionally excellent, but also aesthetically pleasing. I developed a new leg vise that uses a type one lever instead of the old type three. It has a clear advantage of holding thin pieces as the lower part of the leg is adjustable for jaw angle, where a regular vise tends to want to spit out a thin piece. It also holds work better for heavy chisel work, slip a block under the leg, makes for a much more solid hold then the regular vise.
